My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’m so glad this prequel came along and I had the chance to read it. This is such a great story that I can’t wait to read the first book.

Psychopaths are an enigma for Dr. Evelyn Talbot since she was a victim of a horrendous attack by her boyfriend Jasper at sixteen.

After killing her best friends and torturing her for three straight days, Jasper cuts her throat and burns the cottage he is being hiding leaving her for dead. Jasper was never found. But Evelyn can’t understand why a normal person can do such things, so she makes it her life’s work to research the behavior of this people that to her understanding aren’t crazy, but lack the essential feeling of remorse.

For her study, she is granted a facility in Alaska to harbor 200 of the worst serial killers and psychopath in jail. Her new institution will be Hanover House, a place where there is not scape.
