Love the way John Connolly mix every aspect of the human soul to make a terrifying world, were everything is possible and that evil and desire for pain is greater in the minds of people so disgusting that their evil reflect in their human form. Giving hints of historical events that confirms that human kind is capable of anything, but that there are others willing to sacrifice themselves to save the ones in need. And give justice to the ones that suffer death in the hands of this awful things.
